The quest for perfection seems like such a noble thing.  You toil away, working so hard to get everything right. But perfection is an elusive goal, and the target keeps on moving.  What often happens is that in the search for perfection, we end up standing still, always searching for the exactly correct way to present ourselves, or our art to the world.  We come up with a million excuses as to why we need more time to get that thing “just right”, but what it really boils down to is that we are afraid that what we have to offer is not enough.  I’m here to tell you that what you have to offer is enough. Just showing up, and being your real authentic self and being brave enough to show that self to the world is really enough. I was having a conversation with my 9-year-old daughter about her favorite YouTubers, and she was sharing with me that what she loves the most about them is that they are brave enough to share themselves with the world.  They’re not perfect; she doesn’t expect them to be. But they are real, and they are showing up. So put that perfectly imperfect idea out into the world. Hit send on that email to the gallery. Start the IG account and post your art. Stop waiting for everything to be exactly right and you’ll start to see your life transforming in really positive ways because imperfect action is better than no action at all.
