Healing through the creative arts

My mom passed away from cancer 5 years ago, and when she was undergoing treatment, she had to quit her job and had such a hard time figuring out what to do with herself.  She didn’t feel well, and the chemo made her mind foggy, so she was bored and just sort of lost.  She took up crocheting, and that helped her a lot.  I would like to offer people who are in treatment for cancer and their families, as well as cancer survivors an opportunity to explore the creative outlet of fluid acrylic painting.  This will be a way for people to connect with and support each other in this challenging time of their lives.  It will also be a way to explore and connect with a creative outlet to help pass the time and forget for a little while about cancer.  I am organizing a free community painting event, where people who are fighting cancer and their families can come and learn a fun painting technique where we will hammer paint.  Its messy, its fun, and its a great way to connect with others that are going through the same thing that you are.  You don’t need any art background or experience to participate in this.

Please stay tuned for details on donating and joining the events!
